What is Pilates?
Pilates is a system of core exercises created by Joseph Pilates that improves posture and creates long, lean muscle. We will be studying the mat exercises.
Pilates is an excellent technique to teach on it’s own or as a complimentary mind-body fitness modality for yoga teachers. It’s rehabilitative aspects are helpful for people who may not want to practice yoga. It is non-dogmatic, sequential, and accessible for all with modifications built in.
- A digital PDF manual detailing the theory and history of Pilates as well as color photos, exercise descriptions, sequences, and more
- Video tutorial breakdowns of all of the essential Pilates mat exercises plus modifications for injuries and special populations
- 3 recorded classes to follow along with
- Lectures on methodology, theory, and sequencing
- 2 live online training days (6 hours total) that include a class, lecture, and time for questions

I can’t attend the event live, can I still come? YES! You are welcome to purchase for the recordings, although we will miss your presence live but understand things happen. The recordings will be sent within 48 hours of the event. You can complete the certification any time.
What materials do I need? You need a device to view the event, your Pilates mat, a notebook, a pen, and water.
What will we do during the course? This course is designed to be both live and pre-recorded video sessions. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions in real-time.
Each student has access to Lindsay for private appointments as needed online during the duration of the course.
I’m new to Pilates, is this for me? This virtual course is for all levels, however it is recommended that you have some Pilates, yoga, fitness or dance experience. You will receive a survey to complete after your payment is received.
I’m not interested in the certificate, can I just take the course for fun, relaxation, and my own interest? Absolutely!
