Have you ever heard that yoga can make you fly? Well, now you really can with the aerial yoga hammock!
Aerial yoga is a new type of yoga where some or all of your body is elevated off the ground. It encourages a deeper stretch and also a deeper state of meditation through the sensation of weightlessness.
The chakras are energy centers in the body located along the spine corresponding to different organs and emotional frequencies. The aerial yoga hammock can help you tap into these energies through different poses, exercises, and meditations using the soft silk fabric as a yoga prop. Root Chakra: Elevated Feet
This center is related to our stability and survival needs.
Lie down on your back and place your ankle in the aerial yoga hammock. Feel your back grounded into the floor and take some weight off your feet! They do so much for you every day.
Mantra: I am grounded and stable like the earth.
Sacral Chakra: Cat/Cow
This center is related to our creativity.
Kneel on your knees and hold onto the hammock with both hands. On an exhale, round your back and as you inhale, arch your spine fluidly.
Mantra: I am creative and flow like water.
Solar Plexus Chakra: Flying Boat Pose
This center is related to our willpower.
Sit in the hammock and lean back so the legs come up to a tabletop position or V-angle. You’ll feel the core fire on right away! Make sure you’re smiling and not gritting your teeth!
Mantra: I am determined to accomplish anything I set my mind to like a blazing fire.
Heart Chakra: Melting Heart
This center is related to our emotions.
From a standing position, place the hammock in front of you at hip height. Walk forward and fold over, keeping the hammock in front of the hips. Place the hands on the mat as the legs release off the floor. Open the legs wide and hook the feet onto the poles of the fabric. On an inhalation, walk the hands forward. On an exhale, sink the chest down through the arms like melting honey, keeping the hands glued to the floor.
Mantra: I am emotionally free.
Throat Chakra: Low Shoulderstand
This center is related to our communication.
Lie down on your back and place the backside of your knees in the swing loop. Relax the shoulders and neck into the ground.
Mantra: I communicate and express myself effectively.
Third Eye Chakra: Inverted Butterfly
This center is related to our intuition.
This inversion should be spotted by a professional if trying for the first time.
To perform this pose, place the hammock behind you at hip-level. Lean back while the legs open to a straddle position as you go upside-down. The aerial yoga hammock will catch in your hips so you are safe and secure. Bend the knees into the butterfly pose and let go with your hands for a thrill!

Crown Chakra: Savasana in the Aerial Yoga Hammock
This center is related to complete spiritual enlightenment.
This one feels oh-so-good! Simply lie all the way back in your hammock and wrap yourself up in it like a sweet little cocoon! Breathe deeply, relax, and stay for as long as you want.
Mantra: I share my wisdom with the whole universe.
